I have posted a couple of new pieces in the Acrylic gallery. The first work is older, and the second was finished about a month or two ago.
I painted this landscape from a photo I took when I visited a state park in Sioux Falls, SD.
The sky that day was an incredibly vivid blue.
This work is 16″ by 20″.
The other work I added is the most recent. It is an abstract in my ‘drip’ style. I call it ‘Flower’.
I painted this by starting with a black base and overlapping thin layers of paint that I poured on the canvas. After this step, it looked a little lacking, so I painted a sketchy flower over the top with silver paint, giving it a graffiti style. I love the sheen of metallic paint
.
This is the largest work I have done to date measuring in at 30″ x 30″
I have some water color/ink pieces that are completed that I need to get scanned and posted. I also have a couple more works in progress that will hopefully be completed soon and posted shortly after. One of these works is an acrylic triptych, I pained some abstract shapes with metallic silver bubbles. I have a little clean-up work to do on that piece before I can photograph and post it. The second work in progress I have is a complete abstraction. I used some left over paint on a smaller canvas (16″ x 20″) in my ‘drip’ style. It looks really interesting, I can’t decide top from bottom, or if I am done with it yet. I have one more work in progress as well. I started it years ago, and it seemed lacking. I finally figured out how to fix it up. This particular piece is kinda girly with butterflies and flowers. I may not be able to get much work done for a little while. My studio space in unavailable at the moment, but I should have a workspace again in the near future.
I am still working on the online store and making decisions on that as well. If you are interested in any of the pieces in the gallery, please e-mail me any questions.
